Don’t Forget to Consider Your Contacts on Vacation

Let’s say you’ve already logged on to http://www.onlyexclusivetravel.com/2428/812/objects/resorts/huvafen-fushi.html and booked your trip and stay at Huvafen Fushi or some other resort in Maldives. What are some other things that you may want to consider besides the typical swimsuit, shorts, tank top and T shirt? Do you wear contacts?

According To Expert Travelers

What kind of job is that? I want to be an expert traveler! Well regardless; the experts have a few tips for travelers who wear contact lenses. Here is a very brief list of a few things you might want to remember to bring: your contact lens prescription (oddly enough, some countries require this and some don’t); and never travel without a spare set; drops for rewetting; the solution for your contact lenses; the case for your contact lenses and of course—you can’t forget your glasses. Well you can; but it’s not advised. Now you’ve got your checklist of things to bring. Would it be easier just to leave the contacts at home and wear your glasses? Maybe—but you do want to look your very best while you’re lying there on the beach do you not? And think of the money you can save on sunglasses if you take your contact lenses along. No pricey prescription sunglasses—you can buy all those fun, cheapo sunglasses from the guy on the beach—and look good doing it.

Should You Choose To Travel With Your Contacts…

Here are a few pointers to get you through the trip with those contact lenses: sorry to stress this but don’t forget your prescription just in case; if you have an extra pair or two bring them along in case you lose the ones you usually wear; in the unfortunate case your checked luggage would get misplaced somehow (of course we know that never happens) you may want to carry your contacts, case and solutions in your carry-on luggage; which brings up another point—since airlines have liquid restrictions these days, you’ll want to travel with travel size bottles (the other reason you want to travel with your own travel size bottles of solutions is that where you’re going may not stock the kind of solutions you prefer).

And one final tip is that you probably want to remove your contacts before your flight so that your contacts won’t dry out due to the inside atmosphere of the plane, particularly if you take a nap.
